The Mission of the Peninsula Symphony is to perform free orchestral concerts of music chosen for
the mutual pleasure of audience and musicians; to enrich the lives of Palos Verdes' and the South Bay's
diverse population; to cultivate a love of music by providing community education and family entertainment;
and to achieve recognized artistic excellence in the performance of the highest quality music.
The Peninsula Symphony is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and access in our Board membership, orchestra personnel, musical selections, and audiences. Board membership is open to anyone who indicates an interest in serving. Orchestra personnel are selected based on their performance ability, without regard to gender or any particular demographic characteristics. Musical selections include pieces from multiple cultures including: American; European; South American; African; and Asian. Concerts are held in a large auditorium, are free to all, and concert announcements are advertised in social media and multiple South Bay media outlets. Outreach includes a Youth Orchestra that addresses underserved areas. We believe the more varied our personnel and musical selections are, the more we can meet our stated mission which is, in part, to enrich the lives of Palos Verdes’ and the South Bay’s diverse population.
